Abstract

Wind power and solar energy are an added source
of energy generation that is environmentally friendly making
them and using for their own free will and presence. This work
uses a Grey wolf optimization method to solve the problem of
optimal wind power system design. We consider the situation in
which excess electrical components are chosen to achieve a
desirable level of reliability. The power components of the system
are characterized by their cost, capacity and reliability. To
estimate the reliability of electrical power systems we use the
universal moment generating function (UMGF) method. An
illustrative example is presented.
